Horticulture

The Horticulture Centre and training for PWDs began in 1987 at Jeevan Bhima Nagar through the efforts of our founder, N. S. Hema, who herself was a wheelchair user and was passionate about horticulture. She envisioned empowering PWDs and enabling their inclusion in the mainstream by providing them with horticulture training. Further, in 2001, the Government leased 5 acres of land at Kyalsenehalli for horticulture training for PWDs.

At APD’s Horticulture Program, every plant you nurture creates a greener tomorrow—while empowering persons with disabilities through training and livelihood opportunities. By partnering with us, you don’t just buy a plant, you invest in inclusion, sustainability, and social impact.

1) We grow plants with the help of PWDs by involving them in plant production and sales
2) Provide horticulture training to PWDs
