Sponsor a month of food supplies for a person with spinal cord injury
People with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) who come to APD are from a lower socio-economic background. Due to their disability they suffer from trauma which also affects their families psychologically and economically. They require adequate rehabilitation and support. We assess the person and according to their needs, provide therapeutic services, mobility aids, counseling support and career guidance. Currently, most hospitals only cater to medical intervention. The physical and psychological trauma faced post hospital discharge is not dealt with appropriately.
APD has initiated a residential rehabilitation program for people with spinal cord injuries, which apart from lodging and boarding, works towards creating a positive impact to revive these people psychologically. A person needs an average of 3 months of treatment during which they stay at our center. At any given time, there are 7 people between 18 - 30 years of age, at the center. Your contribution goes towards the rehabilitation of one of them for a month.
