The vision of APD is to ensure “Equality and Justice to Persons with Disability” towards this APD is hosting employers workshop for Inclusion of Persons with Disability in Mainstream workforce on 25th March 2017

APD-Livelihood vertical program
Livelihood is one of the important vertical programmes at APD mainly focusing on candidates with below Pre University between the age group of 18 to 30 years. Annually around 1000 persons are trained and among them minimum 80% are placed for mainstream employment. APD run various courses in ITI, Horticulture, Hospitality, BPO, Retail, Job readiness, Disability rehabilitation etc.  All these training programs are residential and mostly trained and placed for employment in Bangalore.

Objectives of workshop:

  • Orientation to Rights Of Persons With Disabilities  Act, 2016
  • Understand the existing potential employment opportunities for Persons with Disability in state of Karnataka
  • Deliberate upon possible livelihoods for PWD’s, issues and options, challenges and avenues that can be created options for persons with disabilities that can be created through various sectors by engaging in workforce environment.
  • Explore network and collaboration possibility with existing industries to create road map for persons with disabilities in possible employment sector.
  • Create a space for innovations, new thoughts and ideas for future growth to match the employer demand with required skills set of persons with disability.
